FAQs

Due to the current COVID19 restrictions expect some modifications. Please read our COVID19 Response & Service Updates for more.

Visiting a church for the first time can be nerve-racking, but having an idea of what to expect can help. All are welcome to join one of our Sunday services, which are designed to reflect biblical principles and practices such as worship of Jesus, prayer, celebrating communion, and teaching from the Bible. We hope to meet you!

  • What can I expect when I come to the Simi Church?

You can expect friendly people and a worshipful environment. (We don't have ushers but rest assured someone will greet you).

We are diverse in many ways, spanning different races and cultures, with some practicing the way of Jesus for years, and some still learning who about who he truly is.

Whether you are a high school student, college student, single adult, or married with children, we want you to feel welcomed and able to enjoy worshiping God.

  • What are the services like?

We don't have ushers but rest assured someone will greet you. The best seats are nearer to the stage and away from the doors.

Our service begins with worship, including communion, followed by a sermon. During the worship, we dim the lights to focus our attention on God and minimize distractions. (We don't worry about what others think of us while we worship, it's about you and connecting to God in whatever way you know how!). Communion and offering baskets are available on tables set up on either side of the room.

Classes are dismissed just before the sermon and end immediately following service.

For your convenience, lyrics and scriptures are projected on a screen above the stage. We love and believe strongly in the written text as the Word, so sermons are straight from the Bible.

  • What about my kids?

For your child's safety and ours, all our teachers are pre-screened, and two adults will be present in class at all times. A parent or guardian must sign their children in and out of class. You are welcome to check in on them at any time.

Six months through Kindergarten have classes every Sunday. They are located in the building attached to the main sanctuary. Sign in is about fifteen minutes before the service begins and sign out immediately following its close.

Elementary School-age children have class every Sunday, except for special occasions. They are also located in the building attached to the main sanctuary. Classes are available after worship and end immediately following the lesson.

Pre-teen & High School students have classes twice a month and meet in the community center and across the driveway in the Spanish chapel.

  • What should I wear?

Please wear what you feel comfortable wearing when you worship God! You will feel completely welcome whether you are casually dressed or in your "Sunday Best".
